Juara MotoGP Spanyol, Marquez Dekati Rekor Lorenzo

Repsol Honda rider Marc Marquez approaches the record of winning teammate Jorge Lorenzo after winning the Spanish MotoGP at the Jerez Circuit on Sunday

Marquez became the fastest rider in the Spanish MotoGP 2019 with a time of 41 minutes 08,685 seconds. The second rank is occupied by Suzuki rider Alex Rins after trailing 1,654 from the winner. Third place belongs to Maverick Vinales from Yamaha with a time of 41 minutes 11.128 seconds

The victory at Jerez was the second for Marquez in MotoGP 2019 after the Argentine MotoGP, or the third after the second podium in the Qatar MotoGP.

With a first place finish in Spain, Marquez returned to the top of the standings thanks to a score of 70 points. Marquez is now one point ahead of his compatriot, Rins.

Total Marc Marquez has collected 46 wins in MotoGP. The Catalonia-born rider is currently only one victory behind Lorenzo

Marquez's opportunity to overtake Lorenzo can be created this season, even in the next series in the French MotoGP at Le Mans Circuit, May 19. Apart from Marquez's improved performance, Lorenzo has not shown any progress this season.

In this season Jorge Lorenzo has never felt on the podium. The former Yamaha and Ducati rider is often out of the top 10 in the last four series. In Qatar MotoGP, Lorenzo finished 133th, then 12th in Argentina did not finish in the United States MotoGP, and 12th in Spain.
